Machine tool manufacturers and their customers realise more and more often that constant ambient temperatures during manufacturing enhance the precision of the parts to be processed by the factor 8 to 10.
The refrigeration manufacturer Bitzer makes use of this knowledge: 25 decentralised cooling units were replaced by a central cooling unit for cutting oils and cooling lubricants used in manufacturing processes.
The previous decentralised arrangement of the cooling units had caused considerable thermal load in the ambient air and consequently increased the power consumption of the air conditioning system. By using a central cooling system, the company Bitzer can economise approx. 30 % of the current consumption in the plant in Rottenburg-Ergenzingen. For this plant, Güntner provided axial fan condensers of the unit series GVH that are installed on the roof of the central cooling facility.
